Meet Gabriele Kurzbauer, a Vienna-based artist creating three-dimensional works using cotton.

Through her practice, Gabriele transforms soft, natural materials into sculptural forms, exploring texture, volume and the possibilities of working beyond the traditional two-dimensional surface.

Her works invite us to look at familiar materials differently, turning something delicate and simple into something expressive and dimensional.

In our conversation, we talk about her creative process, the play of light & shadow, and how cotton & glue become the foundation for her unique three-dimensional artworks.

They changed its angle.

“Schieflage (Karl Lueger 3,5°)” by Klemens Wihlidal turns a historical monument into a question. The statue is still there - but now it no longer stands with the same authority.
