Running a production database used to mean a DBA logging into a server and editing config files by hand. Server dies, you rebuild it and copy the settings over manually.

CloudNativePG removes that manual work. The database configuration is managed like code:

- Changes are reviewed before they reach production
- Bad changes are rejected automatically
- A failed server is replaced with the correct settings in seconds
- Every change is recorded
