We are thrilled to share the success of our recent event in collaboration with the Stadtakademie Vienna, where we discussed the European Commission's initiative Ai4vet4ai to empower students, businesses, and educators through AI integration. This initiative aligns with the EU’s mission to equip future generations with the skills necessary to thrive in a digitalized world.

With a keynote from Network Development Hub, we explored the transformative potential of AI across all levels of education— from early childhood to higher professional institutions. This event emphasized the importance of fostering synergies between educators and businesses to prepare the next generation for a future driven by innovation.

The European Union’s AI Regulation Act (AIA) aims to be part of a larger strategy to create a clear and unified set of rules for AI. It addresses the issues posed by complex AI technologies, such as generative AI and large language models (LLMs), by providing a framework to ensure safe and ethical AI development.

Key Elements of the AIA

The AIA has introduced a risk-based classification system, categorizing AI systems into four levels—unacceptable, high, limited, and minimal risk. with higher-risk systems to ensure data governance, transparency, and accountability. Developers must clearly explain how their systems work, especially complex models like LLMs, to help companies comply with regulations. The AIA also clarifies liability rules for developers, deployers, and users throughout the AI lifecycle. It prioritizes privacy by working with GDPR to protect personal data and mandates strong cybersecurity measures for high-risk systems to prevent unauthorized access and ensure safety.

program contributes to the effort with support

The Ai4vet4aiAI4VET4AI program, set for completion by 2028, is designed to support the AIA by providing vocational education and training for AI professionals. It addresses the skills gap by training developers and users on compliance and risk management, helping businesses adapt to evolving regulations. Through hands-on training, it is strengthening enforcement by ensuring professionals can effectively apply the guidelines.

The program also balances innovation with compliance, promoting ethical AI development within legal boundaries. It also supports SMEs and startups by providing resources to help them navigate the regulatory landscape and stay competitive.

As AI regulations evolve, AI4VET4AI will prepare professionals for future changes, ensuring the guidelines remain practical and up-to-date.

The EU’s AI Regulation Act provides essential guidelines for managing AI technologies. However, successful implementation will require ongoing support and education. By 2028, the AI4VET4AI program will play a crucial role in preparing AI professionals and organizations to meet these challenges, ensuring the EU remains a leader in responsible AI development.

I am thrilled to highlight the tremendous progress being made by the Ai4vet4ai Project across various levels— , international, and local—touching multiple sectors.

EU Level Impact:
At the EU level, the project has received enthusiastic backing from key leaders and organizations, including Eureka, WKO, PwC, and the local Government. These endorsements are not just symbolic; they are vital in raising awareness of AI's transformative potential. By establishing robust partnerships and fostering collaboration, we are laying a solid foundation for future initiatives that will integrate AI into education and other critical sectors. This momentum is propelling us toward a future where AI is not just a tool, but a cornerstone of innovation and progress across Europe.

Local Level Initiatives:
Locally, we are entering an exciting phase of the project, marked by a series of impactful events organized by a diverse range of entities, such as Young Professionals Network Austria, PolEdu - Politics & Education, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber with the support of local Associations. These events are more than just gatherings—they are platforms for dialogue, learning, and action. Our goal is to engage stakeholders from all walks of life, enhancing public awareness and understanding of AI's societal impacts. We are focusing on the vast opportunities AI offers, particularly in reshaping the labour market, transforming education, ensuring trustworthy AI, and navigating AI regulations.

Through these dynamic efforts, we are not only championing AI but also ensuring that it becomes an integral part of Austria’s educational and societal framework. Together, we are building a future where AI is a key driver of progress, shaping the way we learn, work, and live.
