, from nowhereville.org !! Thanks for the email, we agree the facebook like modal, is annoying. But we put it there a couple of weeks ago, to stop site spammers. I have since implemented a different system.
Furthermore, the Modal still appears, but you DO NOT have to click like to enter VanillaSKINS , we do take on board what people say, and appreciate your comments.
The system now is 10 seconds, or choose to close. Simple really .. in future it would be nice to get emails from people who DO NOT mask their email address, then we could reply personally.
So I have posted a reply here, and everyone who follows us for updates and assistance can see we do not wish to put anyone off our site.
If issues still remain, we will entertain any request our users have and consider them seriously, as without you guys we have no customer base. However only if users actually email from a bonafide email address.
Fairs fair at the end of the day.
Please also note, we dont litter our site with facebook likes and social widgets, so its fair for us to grab an opportunity when facebook is the single biggest social network on the planet.
But I do agree a 10,000 second wait is ridiculous .. so this has been changed to 10 seconds.
Plus you can click the little X icon to close the Modal window, and proceed thru the site. ONLY the index page has the facebook modal on, so anywhere within the site you will not get bugged.
But, if you venture back to the homepage, you will see the Modal window again, all you have to do is click the X icon.
I dont think thats too much to ask.
We use facebook and linked with Twitter to update our users of site advancements, free downloads and latest available skins for sale.
We do not operate a opt in mail system, nor do we email users individually or en masse. So connecting with users socialy is our system of choice.
