An “internet of money” is emerging, along with distributed data hosting and user-controlled platforms.

Many looking at this offer might think what an idiot would agree to trade that amount of money just for 2 pizzas.

This day in bitcoin history: 12 years ago, an American programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz made the first commercial Bitcoin transaction for 2 pizzas for 10,000 BTC, which at the time was worth a total of $41!

When Hanyecz purchased those pizzas, it established for the first time that bitcoin had market value. Of course, if it wasn’t Hanyecz it would have been someone else, it was inevitable. While some people would ridicule him for this trade, Hanyecz himself does not regret the purchase and neither should we. Instead, we ought to thank him for pioneering bitcoin adoption.

Maybe the market is down these days, but it is not that tricky to invite your family, friends and partners over for some pizza, right? 😉
