Difference between QA and QC

👨‍💼QA ensures that the correct techniques are used in the first place in order to produce and deliver the end result of a Product.

👨‍💻The QC role relates to the end product and ensures that any mistakes are revealed and rectified before the product is passed on to the paying client.

👬The difference between quality control and quality assurance is that QC isn’t interested in the techniques used to reach the final product.

🔤Alpha Testing And Beta Testing

Alpha and Beta testing are the Acceptance Testing types that help in building confidence to launch the product/software.💻

❓What Is Alpha Testing❓
This is a form of internal acceptance testing performed mainly by the in-house software testing teams. Alpha testing is the last testing done by the test teams before releasing the software for the beta test.👩‍💻👨‍💻

❓What Is Beta Testing❓
This is a testing stage followed by the internal alpha test. It is the final testing phase where the companies release the product/software to external test teams or employees.

Some of the challenges in Regression Testing🔨

With successive regression runs, test suites become quite large. The entire regression test suite cannot be executed due to time constraints or budget constraints.👨‍🏫

Minimizing the test suite while achieving maximum, thus deciding test coverage is a challenge.👨‍💼

Determination of frequency of Regression Tests, e.g. after every build update or after bug fixes is a challenge.🤷‍♂️

What is Security Testing?🔑

4 QA TERMS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. Test Case
Consists of specified preconditions, steps, and expected results to determine if a feature performs its function as expected.🅰️

2. Defect
Any deviation from an application’s specifications. 🐞

3. Regression testing
This type of test commonly is executed on a new build which ensures that all previously tested functionality is not broken.💯

4. Smoke tests
Minimal type of test to check only the most basic functions of a product and if to find out if build is ready for more advanced testing.❓

❓ How much testing is enough ❓

✏️The answer to “How much testing is enough?” is “It depends!” (this was first pointed out by Bill Hetzel in his book “The Complete Guide to Software Testing”). It depends on risk, the risk of missing faults, of incurring high failure costs, of losing creditability and market share. 💲
All of these suggest that more testing is better. However, it also depends on the risk of missing a market window and the risk of over-testing (doing ineffective testing) which suggest that less testing may be better.📈

Security Testing is done to check how the software or application or website is secure from internal and external threats. This testing includes how much software is secure from the malicious program, viruses and how secure and strong the authorization and authentication processes are.🔐

It also checks how software behaves for any hackers attack and malicious programs and how software is maintained for data security after such a hacker attack.❌
