If you have not registered for the 1st National Open Source Conference of Afghanistan (NOSCA), 19-21 February, 2013, Jalalabad, you should now through our website http://www.opensource.af/. Our hands-on in-depth lab trainings start on the 19th Feb will continue until the end of the 20th. The NOSCA 2013 plenary begins on the 21st and followed by thematic breakout sessions. Trainings and sessions are led by some of the best minds in FOSS-- don't miss the opportunity. Jalalabad is warm and pleasant, you should not miss enjoying some chapli-kabab and fish too at the riverside in Darunta or Pol-e Behsood.

National Open Source Conference of Afghanistan (NOSCA) 2013 is the first national consultation of the Free/ Open Source Software (FOSS) users, developers and advocates in Afghanistan covering the most pressing issues around open source technologies.

NICTAA's Policy Consultation- Join Us Tomorrow:

On behalf of MCIT and NICTAA I would like to invite you to this consultation on Afghan ICT Policy, an important topic for the sector. Please, send a representative from your organization to participate. Association members such as NISPAA, ACSA, OSA, SAFMA are requested to invite their members. ATOSA is also invited to join and invite its members. Draft agenda is attached.

Time: 3:00pm
Day: Wednesday, January 9th, 2013,
Venue: Deputy Minister Technical's meeting room, 4th Floor, MCIT building.

Background:
The World Bank has funded MCIT's ICT Sector Development project. A Team is tasked to update the ICT Policy Afghanistan, this involved consultations with the sector players (telecoms, ISPs, Software/hardware winders, media, education providers and others) so their issues, suggestions and recommendations are incorporated in the document.
