Coral Beach Resort Sharjah - Managed by HMH has become the world's first hotel fully adapted to the needs of deaf guests.

Deaf visitors are free to use the hotel's services and facilities thanks to our partner Amsaan platform, which has been implemented by Gulf People of Determination Information Technologies. Hearing-impaired people can simply select any of the available sign languages on a tablet and immediately connect with an online interpreter. In the first phase, Amsaan provides online translation in Ukrainian and Russian sign languages, with Arabic SL, British SL and Pakistani SL soon to be connected.

The United Nations (UN) Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine has taken as an example and praised the joint activities of Kharkiv City Council and our partner NGO Social Progress "Social Cohesion" in introducing a communication system for deaf people in medical institutions.
This achievement was made possible through the implementation of the 'Country without Barriers' programme for deaf people and the use of unique digital technologies.
"As an example, the actions of Kharkiv City Council, which in March 2020 began introducing an online relay service in all languages in all city health facilities. This crisis has created a significant gap between social services in society and the needs of people with disabilities," said the UN Monitoring Mission statement "Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people with disabilities in Ukraine".

We are glad to inform that on February 7, Sirak Muradyan, President of Al Khalidiah Tourism, and our partner Vitaliy Mikhalchuk, CEO of Gulf People of Determination Information Technologies (Amsaan™ Relay System), signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Sharjah.

Al Khalidiah Tourism, one of the leading DMCs in the UAE, has become the exclusive representative of Amsaan's service in the travel market.
Amsaan is a service that helps tourists with hearing impairments to have no barriers in communicating in hotels and other tourist destinations. Interpreters are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help tourists with hearing impairments feel at home.

Mr Muradyan is confident that the introduction of such a service will help boost tourism and make the UAE the first deaf-friendly destination in the world.

A representative of our partner Public Organisation Social Movement Social Unity joined the Barrier-Free Council of Ukraine

Secretary of the Social Movement Public Organization Anton Gulidin has been included in the Barrier-Free Council, an advisory body to the Cabinet of Ministers that will monitor implementation of the planned activities, development and implementation of programs and report on the fulfilment of the targets.

The establishment of such a body was initiated by First Lady Olena Zelenska at the regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group for drafting the National Strategy on the Creation of a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine is introducing modern IT services to improve the quality of services for hearing-impaired citizens.

A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between our partner Social Unity and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

A special widget has already been installed on the website of the Ministry. From now on, the hearing-impaired people may easily communicate online with the Ministry staff through a sign language interpreter, get necessary information and professional advice, send their complaints and make phone calls.

The ministry was also given a tablet with special licensed software that allows them to call a sign language interpreter online at any time. This will help to provide fast and good quality services to the hearing-impaired visitors.

On 20 February, representatives of our partner in Ukraine held a meeting with the chairman of the Human Rights Committee, Dmytro Lubinets. There is a lot of work and travel ahead to make Ukraine comfortable for everyone without exception! The process is very difficult, but it is worth it.
