SpecTec to deliver new digital solution for Virgin Voyages

SpecTec’s cruise business unit will deliver its AMOS asset management technology across the Virgin Voyages fleet ahead of its launch in 2020.

Virgin Voyages is a new entrant to the travel industry with its first ship, Scarlet Lady, set to be ported at Miami. The first ship will host more than 2,770 guests, whom the brand refers to as sailors, and 1,160 crew members.

The AMOS platform, delivered by SpecTec’s cruise business unit, will manage its major assets and will be centrally controlled with 24/7 access to key operations and data.

SpecTec cruise business unit chief executive Roddy MacLennan said “In the same way Virgin Voyages will deliver a ship which offers a fresh take on cruising, our roadmap for the ongoing digital innovation of AMOS will ensure their ships are always best-equipped with technology fit for the future.

“The AMOS platform will boast a dynamic user interface, mobile applications and web-based solutions that form part of an intuitive user experience. The system can be used on tablets and other mobiles devices on independent platforms that can operate offline. Hosted in the cloud, AMOS can also be integrated so our customers can always benefit from connecting to the latest technology, on board and ashore.”

While Virgin Voyages fleet operations technical director Jim Craig said “Our technology integration with SpecTec is focused on pioneering the next generation of digital solutions for not just Virgin Voyages, but the cruise industry as a whole.

“It is our goal to arm our crew with the most advanced and efficient technology to streamline process and procedures, ensuring the highest quality of safety and service for our sailors.”
