🇰🇪 Happy Madaraka Day,❤️
Can I share something that shocking?
Many children think a dangerous person looks dangerous.
Like a villain in a movie.
Someone scary.
Someone dirty.
Someone hiding in a dark corner.
But that’s not always true.
A dangerous person can look kind.
They can smile.
They can be well-dressed.
They can offer sweets.
They can even be someone your child has seen before.
So instead of only teaching:
❌ “Don’t talk to strangers.”
Teach:
✅ “Pay attention to what people ask you to do.”
If someone asks you to:
🚩 Keep a secret from Mum or Dad
🚩 Go somewhere without permission
🚩 Get into a car
🚩 Accept gifts without checking first
🚩 Leave your friends and go with them
That’s a red flag—no matter how nice they seem.
Here are 4 more safety habits every child should know:
🛡️ Have a Family Code Word
Never go with anyone who doesn’t know it.
🛡️ Check First
Before accepting gifts, lifts, or invitations—even from familiar people.
🛡️ Adults Don’t Ask Children for Help
A safe adult will ask another adult.
🛡️ Stay Safe Online
Never share your school, location, routines, or photos with strangers.
Freedom is not just about protecting our children.
It’s about teaching them how to protect themselves.
