E-invoicing is mandatory in the UAE - are you ready?
The UAE government has approved the introduction of a mandatory E-invoicing system, which will come into effect from 2026. This is not optional - it's mandatory. The Federal Tax Authority will launch audits right after the rules go live.
๐ Legal Requirements:
โข Sign a contract with an accredited EDI provider by July 1, 2026.
โข Start using the e-invoicing system from January 1, 2027.
โ ๏ธ The following penalties will apply for violations of E-invoicing requirements: a fine of AED 5,000 per month will be imposed if a company:
โข has not implemented the e-invoicing system;
โข has not appointed an accredited electronic data interchange provider.
Avoid annual fines of over AED 60,000.
