Born and raised in Sharjah, UAE in a family that appreciates art, handcraft and calligraphy. During Halima Seemba’s primary school, she learned different kinds of arts like sewing, interior designing and styling. By turning fourteen, she has designed her first dress and made it at a tailor. That was her first debut apart from school projects. In 2003, Seemba graduated from The Higher Colleges of T
echnology (HCT)-Dubai Women’s College (DWC). By 2008, Seemba has got her academic bachelor of applied media studies, scoring an “outstanding level”. She worked in different fields away from fashion designing at:
• Design, promotion and corporate marketing.
• Corporate Communication and Strategic Planning.
• Excellency in effective internal and external communication for customer service.
• Events organizing for activities including marketing, promotions and awareness and exhibition management.
• Modern network marketing and electronic search engine optimization (SEO). Thirteen years of experience in the media field made Halima Seemba a prominent fashion designer with higher knowledge and different vision. She’s a luxury lover and an expert in graphic design, art of image and digital printing. That’s why she was able to pursue her dream of penetrating the fashion industry in her own way adding her professional touch to every piece she designs. The distinguished mixture of Graphic Design, digital printing techniques and calligraphy has created unique collections featuring the Arabic geometric art, while being keen on keeping the Emirati identity. Her regal designs are developed with a modern aesthetic in sophisticated details. The eveningwear, Abayas, bridal and ready to wear collections all evoke an ethereal quality, which appeals to a discerning clientele including personalities, royalty, and style setting women from all GCC and MENA region. In 2011, she designed the kits for the Fujairah soccer team. In 2012, Seemba has debuted her fashion business with establishing the label “Aghnaj” followed by launching her first collection named “Conquer”. It’s a contemporary everyday work-wear Abayas. Though there is no detailed embroidery, it’s elegant, chic and trendy. She has participated in “Hag El laila” kids fashion show in Deira city center during Dubai Summer Surprise (DSS), showcasing some colorful beautiful traditional kids wear designed especially for that occasion. Halima was a jury member of a competition followed that fashion show to award the best male/female kid model. Then, came the launch of “Chammak” Abaya & Jalabiya collection. It’s an Indian word means shine and glitter used locally to describe the shining objects. Captivated with the ornately embroidered Jesrsey fabric, Seemba transformed the traditional classic Jalabiya, into an extremely chic gown worn in a party or a special occasion. It was showcased in the Dubai mall fashion show. Halima Seemba was also nominated to be a jury member for a sports-wear designing competition, sponsored by Dubai TV. In 2013, Seebma launched “Arabesque”. An authentic collection with Ottoman Islamic embroidery that reflects the magic of the East, in addition to some luxurious pieces with an iconic wrap around design to emphasize the lady’s charm and femininity. In 2014, came the launch of “Fierce”, means rebellious and competitive. It’s the first untraditional unique ready-to-wear collection with distinctly modern designs that are marked by vibrant colors, lush fabrics, flawless construction and playful, zebra & leopard patterns. It is a wardrobe essential for college girls and also perfect for the long trips use and everyday wear. Coming back to authenticity, Seemba launched her outstanding Kaftans and Jalabiyas collection primed for the spirituals of the holy month of Ramadan. Bright summer colors, riffed with gilded details and gold embroidery, as well as, a variety of creative styles, like the short length Jalabiyas and the three-piece outfits (lose shirt, pants and a head cap). Halima Seemba participated in many fashion shows in UAE and GCC during her professional journey. In 2016, Her collections were showcased in Savera Expo London exhibition. It was exclusively Islamic outfits and Abayas. Her designs caught the attention of the attendees and the collection had a blast. It was a big boost for her to increase the participation in the international fashion shows and exhibitions and line with fashion pioneers worldwide. Recently, “Aghnaj” label has been changed to “Halima Seemba Fashion House” with lots of developments in materials and designs to be more into luxury and royalty in terms of embroidery, fabrics and colors. In 2017, Halima Seemba debuted “Marquise” collection in collaboration with the Lebanese celebrity Rola Saad. The collection photo sessions were done in Tripoli, Lebanon. The royal luxury gowns became renowned for transforming classic fairy couture designs through the finest silks, intricate beading and exquisite embroidery. Halima Seemba’s social media links:
