The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Washington, DC and hosted distinguished leaders from across government, the technology and space industries, and international space organizations, celebrating cross-border collaboration and innovation in the sector.
The welcome address was delivered by Jawaher AlMheiri, Commercial Attaché at the UAE Embassy in Washington DC, followed by remarks from His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Belhoul, UAE Minister of Sports and Chairman of the UAE Space Agency.
Ali Al Hashemi, CEO of Space Services at Space42, spoke to the depth of the UAE-U.S. space relationship, tracing its arc from the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s 1976 meeting with the crew of Apollo 17 to the Artemis Accords and the Emirates Airlock for NASA’s Lunar Gateway. He reflected on the partnerships that have shaped Space42’s journey and the shared ambition that continues to drive progress across the industry.
