China’s EV maker BYD has launched the world’s largest car carrier, the BYD Shenzhen, with space for 9,200 vehicles.
The ship is 721 feet (219.9 meters) long and 123 feet (37.7 meters) wide, with 16 decks and a top speed of 19 knots.
The ship runs on a clean LNG dual-fuel system and a battery hybrid setup. It uses shore power to cut emissions at ports and has technology to reduce nitrogen oxide levels.
Special paint and energy-saving features help it use less fuel, while smart systems ensure safe, low-emission transport of electric cars worldwide.
The ship is expected to finish loading this week before heading to Brazil.
