POLICE ENCOURADGE EARLY REPORTING OF GENDER BASED VIOLENCE.
By Morgan Chomba,
The Zambia Police Service has urged members of the public to promptly report all forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to the nearest police station, warning that delays in reporting often worsen the situation for victims.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Mafken News, Police Public Relations Officer Mr. Godfrey Chilabi said communities should not hesitate to report abuse cases as soon as they occur.
Mr. Chilabi noted that GBV reports can be made anonymously, adding that the police service remains committed to protecting the confidentiality of both victims and informants.
He emphasized that early reporting enables officers to respond quickly, safeguard victims, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
Mr. Chilabi further encouraged the public to work closely with law enforcement agencies in the ongoing fight against Gender-Based Violence across the country.
