These are just part of the things which President Hakainde has so far,
1.Introduced free education: Eliminated school and examination fees for primary and secondary students from early grades up to grade 12.Recruited public workers: Hired over 50,000 teachers and thousands of health workers and security personnel to bridge workforce gaps.
2.Increased the Constituency Development Fund (CDF): Substantially raised the CDF allocation to empower local communities and fund community projects.Restructured national debt: Successfully engaged international creditors to restructure Zambia's heavy external debt defaults.
3.Abolished political cadreism: Removed violent political street gangs and party cadres from public markets and bus stations.
4.Revamped mining assets: Worked to fix and revive key mining operations like Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) and Mopani.
5.Scrapped the death penalty: Eliminated the death penalty for capital offenses to align with human rights commitments.
6.Restored meal allowances: Brought back student meal allowances and improved the bursary and loan framework.Started infrastructure projects:
7.Launched major road expansions, including work on the Lusaka-Ndola dual carriageway.Rolled out the Cash for Work Programme:
8.Created temporary public works projects to give families immediate local income support.
