Simplicity is not about having less for the sake of less. It is about removing what does not need to be there.

Simplicit Design was built around that belief.

From brand identity and graphic design to visual communication and content, we create with purpose, structure and clarity.

Removing the unnecessary gives the right elements space to be seen, understood and remembered.

Simplicity → Simplicit.
Remove what isn't necessary.

Spring, with a little more space.

A new season begins in the Southern Hemisphere.

A good reminder that thoughtful design doesn’t need to say more to make an impression.

Print design is a whole different ball game. 🖨️

What looks like a finished design on screen is actually only the beginning when that design needs to go to print.

There are so many more technical details to consider:
• converting text to curves
• adding bleed
• checking measurements
• making sure every panel and fold lines up correctly
• checking spacing and alignment
• preparing the correct print specifications
• and making sure the final file is actually ready for the printer.

Because when you’re working for print, every millimeter counts.

And honestly, this is where my perfectionist personality comes in handy. 😂 I will check, recheck and check again because once something goes to print, there’s no “oops, let me just move that 2mm to the left.”

It has to be right.

But then the printed piece comes back, you hold the finished product in your hands and…

WOW.

That feeling never gets old.

That little moment where you look at something that started as an idea on your screen and is now a real, physical piece of marketing material? That’s when the pride kicks in.

And here's something I’ve learned over the years:

No one will ever be as proud of your work as you are.

So take the moment. You earned it. 🤍

FYI: Who else is still using CorelDRAW? 😂
I’ve been working in CorelDRAW for 20 years and I still genuinely enjoy it. Some tools just become part of you.

Need print-ready artwork that’s been properly prepared from screen to press?
Let’s work together.

Think of a hashtag like a label on a box.

It tells Instagram what your content is about and can help the right people discover it.

But a label can't make what's inside the box better. 😂

You can use 30 hashtags, 10 hashtags or 5 hashtags...

They won't save bad content.

What matters more?

✨ A strong hook
✨ Useful, entertaining or relatable content
✨ Relevant keywords
✨ Knowing who you're talking to
✨ Consistency and strategy

So instead of throwing random popular hashtags onto every post, choose hashtags that actually relate to your content, your industry and your audience.

Hashtags should support your content.
They shouldn't carry it.

And please... stop spending an hour searching for the “perfect” hashtag list. 😂

Make the content worth finding first.

Want to stop guessing what to post and start posting with a strategy?

This month has been a little… chaotic. 😅

My own content plans have been pushed around by client work, deadlines, life, and all the little things that somehow become urgent.

And honestly? That’s okay.

Social media managers and designers are constantly telling businesses to “plan ahead” — and yes, strategy matters. But real life doesn't always follow the content calendar.

Sometimes the client work has to come first. Sometimes your own content gets pushed back. Sometimes your perfectly planned week becomes a complete mess.

It doesn't mean you're failing. It means you’re working.

Back to the plan when I can. ☕️

When the visual direction of a brand changes, the existing marketing material needs to evolve with it — otherwise you end up with a polished feed surrounded by visuals that still feel like they belong to the old brand.

For this redesign, I took existing marketing material and adapted it to the new social media direction, creating a more cohesive, recognisable and intentional visual system across the content.

Because every piece of content should look like it belongs to the same business.

Your feed and your Stories don’t have to do the same job.

Your feed is where you build your brand — the content people see when they discover you, visit your profile and decide what your business is about.

Your Stories are where you show the everyday stuff — quick updates, behind-the-scenes moments, client reposts, last-minute announcements and things that are relevant right now.

When everything gets dumped onto your feed, it can start looking cluttered instead of intentional.

Good content isn’t just about what you post. It’s also about where you post it. 😉

Today, my son’s teacher phoned me — not because there was a problem, but because she wanted to thank me for raising my son well. ❤️

She told me he is a pleasure to teach. That he has good manners, is well behaved, tries hard, leads in class, sets an example for others and genuinely makes teaching him a pleasure.

And honestly… I needed that.

This week has felt like absolute chaos. Running my own business, managing a household, doing school runs, helping with homework, trying to keep everything together and somehow still finding time to work.

Some days I wonder if I'm actually doing enough.

Then you get a phone call like this.

And suddenly, this hectic week was worth every single second.

I managed to create this moment as a single parent. And I couldn't be prouder.

Proud of my son for the person he is becoming.
And proud of myself for not giving up.

Sometimes we get so caught up in everything we still need to do that we forget to stop and recognise what we're already doing right.

Today, I'm taking the win. 🥹❤️

Social media is about far more than simply posting consistently.

Every piece of content has the opportunity to do a different job — build awareness so people discover your business, increase reach and engagement, create connection, build trust, grow your community, and ultimately help turn attention into sales.

That’s why throwing up a post just because you “need to post today” isn’t really a strategy. 😏

Good social media content works together. It has a purpose, speaks to the right people, and moves your audience a little closer to knowing, trusting and choosing your business.

Your feed shouldn't just look busy. It should work for you.

12/08/2026

And this is the part people don't see when they think social media is just “making a few posts.”

When a month's content has already been planned, designed and placed, a last-minute request doesn't simply mean “add one more post.”

Now I have to look at:

Where it can fit in the existing schedule

Whether the design fits the brand

Whether it disrupts the content flow

Whether it throws off the planned grid

What needs to be moved, redesigned or adjusted

Because I don't want to just post something.

I want it to still make sense.

So yes... I'll make the changes.

But in my head, I'm also quietly mourning the beautiful little content plan I had just finished. 😂

Planning matters. Even when the plan has to change.
