After battling like crazy to get a Win 10 laptop to connect wirelessly to a network without success, I found this really helpful post :) If you're having similar problems, maybe one of the three options listed here will get you going :)

Here's the screen shot of the page in the Settings menu on Windows 10 which shows two important settings which are covered in the posts below:
1. The option to make sure your PC isn't discoverable on the network ( this prevents you device being used to upload updates to other devices and in so doing throttle your connection speeds )
2. The option to tell Windows 10 you are on a Metered Connection and in so doing stop them from forcing automatic updates down to you.

As an addition to the article we posted recently on how to disable the annoying Windows 10 automatic updates, here's an important instructional on how to stop or manage automatic App Updates on Windows 10 as well. These can be great bandwidth consumers so it's advisable to kill them off if you feel they are interfering with your browsing experience.
