Nearly half of the commercial drivers assessed by Guud Drivers who were diagnosed with high blood pressure are not receiving treatment. When untreated Hypertension rides along, the risk of heart attacks or strokes behind the wheel becomes dangerously real.

“Most people assume commercial drivers can just go to a clinic when they need to. But many are far from home, constantly on the move, and don’t have the time or flexibility to stand in long queues,” says Dr. Sanders.

You can’t move a country forward if the people driving it are being left behind. This is not just a health issue; it is a national road safety concern and a systemic challenge we cannot afford to ignore. 💙 🩺

A huge thanks to SHA Risk Specialists, Santam Insurance and MasterDrive for the invitation to speak at the Motor Fleet Hybrid Seminar in JHB last week, which focused on reshaping the Motor Fleet insurance landscape in South Africa.

Amongst an impressive line up of key note speakers, our CEO Ian Shrosbree and Dr. Tracy Sanders represented Guud Drivers on stage, sharing their insights on Innovation in Driver Wellness & Compliance, talking to key issues including commercial drivers' health and wellbeing as well as the challenges of PrDP license compliance in SA.

This last quarter of the year was an impactful one for our team, who attended various well curated events highlighting the need to continue to shine the spotlight on improving road safety.

Thank you to the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport South Africa for the opportunity talk through drivers wellness and the link to improved road safety, and for hosting informative conferences like these at the recent Automechanika Trade Show in JHB - it was an honor to be in the room.
