A very special commission I did back in 2024 ✨

A very special birthday commission I painted a little while back 🐝🤍

I got to include her beloved doggos in the piece, along with a little bee that holds a special meaning for the recipient, making this one extra personal and meaningful.

Painted with acrylics on Fabriano paper.

I’ve been quiet on here, but that’s because life has been so full lately. So I thought I’d share some creative things I’ve been doing that’s been filling my cup 🎨

My husband and I did mosaics for the first time and created this sign for my mom’s green house 🍃

My sister is almost getting married! For their 100 day countdown we created a 100 day advent calendar for them filled with letters, date night ideas and vouchers🥹 It was a great success! 🏆

FUN FACT: I also flip furniture when I have time. I love bringing old furniture back to life. This is my new vanity table (I still need handles for the doors. Lol!)

Touched watercolour paint for the first time since studying to create a special invite for my sister’s kitchentea 🌻

Painted 3 original paintings and created prints from them to gift the kitchentea guests something to take home. The originals I gifted to my sister 🎨 (Should I offer this as a service? 😏)

My mom and I DIY’ed the whole kitchentea decor and setting up. We had so much fun getting everything ready for my sussie🥹 It was a beautiful day.

Started September off strong with a birthday camping trip 🏕️ (Not something creative but thought I’d share)

Thought it’s about time that I introduce myself on here…

Hi my name is Irene, the artist behind Reën Studios. I’m a graphic designer by day and an artist whenever I get the chance.

I’m married to an incredible person, who also works part time as my unpaid quality control officer before any commission leaves the house. We have two ginger cats that live with us rent free😉 (Joey is the one in the video, he demands a lot of attention).

I work with acrylic paint and landscapes are where my heart is. They’re my favourite thing to paint and honestly my favourite commissions to take on. There’s something really special about painting a moment that matters to someone. 💕 I definitely got my love for painting from my mom who always filled our home with colour and her own art.

I studied Visual Communication Design, but painting itself I learnt by observing the subject that I’m painting, and learning techniques from other artists. A lot of my inspiration comes from from nature, especially out on the water when we go kayaking.

And the most important thing about me: I am a child of God. Not a perfect one, but I try my best every day.☺️ I wouldn’t be me without Him, and this world would be a lot less colourful.

I’m currently working on some subtle Christian art and some landscapes that I genuinely can’t wait to share🎨

Big thank you to Cape Town Photographer Videographer for creating this awesome video💕

Another special commission! This one was commissioned by my sussie’s ✨fiancé✨ for their anniversary, and I definitely think it’s one of my favourite paintings I’ve done.

Happy Friday everyone!

🎄 It’s that time of year again!🎄
One thing about me, I love Christmas! If you’ve been thinking about gifting something truly personal this Christmas, now’s the time to get your order in. I’ll be taking a limited number of commissions this season — all pieces will be sent out by 8 December.

Whether it’s a pet portrait, a special place, or a memory you want captured — I’ve got a few spots open before the year wraps up 🎁
Drop me a message or email to chat about your idea!
