Botshabelo Textile Cluster Business Launch and Networking
The Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDT) hosted the Botshabelo Textile Cluster business Networking and launched it at the Botshabelo Digital Hub on the 9th of June 2026.
The launch focused on assisting small businesses or producers connect directly with the buyers, funders and government representatives including IDC , FDC ,NYDA, FNB , ABSA ,NEDBANK and DEDT to discuss funding, skills development, and growth opportunities available to entrepreneurs. The marketplace component of the event allowed participants to showcase their products on the day, demonstrating that when the right platform is provided, businesses can immediately convert visibility into sales and new leads or connections. This highlights DEDT’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment where SMMEs are not only seen but also supported to scale, compete and contribute meaningfully to economic development in the region.
Through this launch, participants were able to :
* Connect directly with funders like IDC , FDC , NYDA and DEDT representatives to discuss funding opportunities
* showcase the products at the marketplace and convert visibility into immediate sales and new business leads
- Receive guidance on the compliance and registration requirements to compete in formal markets
- Gain exposure to digital platforms that help small business scale beyond local region
Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) in order to fully assess your business proposal, prospective applicants need to submit a formal application in the form of a detailed business plan.
