New paper featuring CrystalGrower!

In a new collaboration with UCB, it was demonstrated that the CrystalGrower platform provides early, science-based orientation for crystallisation-driven particle engineering to accelerate Direct Compression (DC) development.

CrystalGrower was used to identify viable particle engineering levers, enabling targeted small-scale experiments and efficient mapping of particle–powder relationships.

Combined with formulation prediction and tablet press validation, the workflow enabled high drug load DC for the challenging NCE Minzasolmin.

Read the paper to explore how CrystalGrower helps break CMC silos and reduce trial-and-error in solid dosage development.

Crystals growing on surfaces

Did you know CrystalGrower can simulate interfacial growth to visualise how varying interfacial energy affects crystal morphology?

Our latest simulation shows how these surface interactions influence the overall growth process, providing a valuable insight and a means to control crystallisation at interfaces.

We’ll be showcasing this and more at the MRS Fall Meeting. Come and see how CrystalGrower can bring your crystallisation research to life!

We’re proud to share that our Chief Scientific Officer, Dr Adam Hill, has co-authored a new paper in the Journal of the American Chemical Society! 🎉

The study benchmarks computational models to understand how flexible molecules balance internal strain and intermolecular forces when forming crystal structures. The team identified a best-in-class method (PBE-MBD/B2PLYPD) and uncovered a fascinating “40% limit” that showed how much intramolecular energy can be offset during crystallisation.

This work provides a new framework for predicting crystallisability and advancing crystal structure prediction.

Flexible molecules change their conformations to optimize intermolecular interactions in the solid-state ─a process that comes at an intramolecular energy cost. The interplay between these opposing forces leads to beautifully balanced and elegant crystal structures. Yet, the relationship between i...

This image shows the Hirshfeld surface of an agrochemical molecule crystallised along its principal bond chain grown in toluene.

Our researchers can simulate and visualise how solvents and molecular packing influence crystal shape and surface interactions, insights that are vital for formulation, stability, and bioavailability in the agrochemical industry.

Curious how solvent choice changes the final morphology?
