A client recently asked me to design a word cloud graphic. Here's one I did previously. I update the year whenever I post it. The word cloud was created in Adobe Illustrator and the car was modeled, textured and rendered in 3D Studio Max. The verbiage is sort od gibberish but no one reads anything on Facebook anyway! I was saddened to read that P.J. O'Rourke passed away 2 days ago. I met the satirist and conservative commentator when he was an editor and writer at National Lampoon in 1977. I illustrated two stories he wrote for the magazine in March and August of that year. The stories were about his wild days in college and they were absurd and hysterically funny (illustrations shown below). The stories were called "Tales of Uncle Mike" and "More Tales of Uncle Mike." It was a privilege to work with him and it was also a privilage to work with the great National Lampoon Art Director, Peter Kleinman, on both of those pieces. That's P.J. at the wheel of the red VW Bug. And that's Meher Baba ("Don't Worry, BE Happy") the self-proclaimed Avatar, or "G-d in human form" who took a vow of silence for 44 years, in the poster in the "hippie room" illustration.

3D illustration for self-promotion (originally for Casio G-Shock Watches International Outdoor and Print Ad Campaign). Software: 3D Studio Max, LightWave 3D, Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator. I built everything including the entire watch in virtual 3D space.
