Ever noticed how AI tools get better at helping you the more you use them?
That's not free.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella just pointed out something most of us haven't fully thought through: every time you correct an AI's answer, every time you say "no, do it this way," you're teaching it something about how your business actually works.
He calls this "intelligence exhaust" β€” and he says it means you're really paying for AI twice. Once with money. And again with your company's own knowledge, which slowly leaks out through everyday use, whether you notice it or not.
Nadella traces this back to a famous 1962 economic theory by Nobel winner Kenneth Arrow, who said sellers of information were always at risk β€” once you reveal what you know, why would anyone pay for it? Nadella's argument is that AI has completely flipped this: now it's the buyer (you, your business) quietly giving away something valuable just to get the tool to work well.
For personal, everyday AI use, this isn't a big deal. But if your business is building serious workflows around AI tools, it's worth asking: as your team gets better at using AI, who ends up owning what you taught it?
We broke this down in detail β€” including what companies can actually do about it β€” in this week's Prisfer newsletter. Link in the comments below. πŸ‘‡

Most small businesses lose customers not because of bad products β€” but because they stop following up.
A simple fix that works almost every time:
1️⃣ After someone buys, send a thank-you message within 24 hours
2️⃣ Ask one genuine question about their experience (not a survey, just a real question)
3️⃣ Follow up again in 2 weeks β€” no sales pitch, just check in
Customers remember who made them feel valued, not who had the lowest price.

Most "AI productivity" advice is too generic to actually use. So here are five specific tasks where AI tools save real, measurable time for small businesses β€” not hype, just practical stuff.
1. First-draft emails and replies
Instead of staring at a blank reply box, AI tools can draft a response based on context, which you then edit. This alone saves 5-10 minutes per email on repetitive customer or vendor messages.
2. Meeting notes and summaries
Tools that transcribe and summarize calls automatically mean nobody has to manually type notes during a meeting, and follow-up action items get captured without anyone forgetting.
3. Social media captions and variations
Writing ten versions of the same post for different platforms used to take an hour. AI handles the repetitive rewriting, and you just pick or tweak the best one.
4. Basic data cleanup
Sorting spreadsheets, fixing formatting inconsistencies, or extracting key numbers from reports β€” tasks that used to take an afternoon now take minutes with the right AI-powered tool.
5. Customer FAQ handling
A simple AI chatbot trained on your common questions can resolve 60-70% of repetitive customer queries without a human even getting involved, freeing up real support time for complex issues.
The common thread: these aren't flashy use cases, they're boring, repetitive tasks β€” which is exactly where AI gives the most time back.
