A Three Month Experience with Apple Watch: Review - http://bit.ly/1OIKqjJ

For the past few years, I have been saving for a nice watch. I had my eyes set on rather expensive luxury watches. “A watch is a man’s only piece of jewelry,” someone once echoed. Though I am not sure who proclaimed, I certainly believe it.
But being the avid fan of Apple that I am, I knew it would be ludicrously silly to spend money on a mechanical watch on the eve of Apple releasing a watch of their own. If I bought a mechanical watch, I would basically never wear it since I would rather wear a watch made by Apple.
And so it happened on September 9, 2014. In Tim Cook’s “One More Thing” that was coined by Steve Jobs, Cook announced the Apple Watch. In rather rare fashion nowadays surrounding the announcement of Apple products, quite little was known about the watch before its unveiling. No major hardware or software leaks of any kind. This was ...

Updated with Photo Gallery: Apple Watch Preview: My (Incomplete) Thoughts - http://bit.ly/1D5nHdo

Today, I had the chance to visit the Apple store and utilize two 15-minute try-on appointments. Here are my thoughts on various aspects of the Apple Watch!
Firstly, I can say that the Apple Watch felt really, really good on the wrist. And this was the case with both the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport with any of the bands that I wore. (I tried all bands minus the modern buckle because there is a 0% chance I will be getting that band since it only works with 38 mm Apple Watch cases.)
The Apple Watch with Link Bracelet (the Apple Watch I have ordered) most certainly feels both luxurious and solid (which is punctuated by the band’s weight). The mechanism by which I could easily add or remove links was really neat, even if it was a little difficult at times. The butterfly clasp mechanism is quite nice as well. Also, from a purely aesthetic standpoint, the link bracelet looks un ...

This Week in Apple (January 26 to February 1, 2015) - http://bit.ly/1EYjKam

This Week in Apple is a new series that very briefly reviews a variety of Apple news from the past week. This is the inaugural edition of the series.
Apple 2015 Q1 Results
The biggest news – at least financially speakings – coming out of Cupertino this week was Apple’s earnings report for Q1 2015. Apple posted a record quarterly revenue of $74.6 (up 30%) billion and record quarterly net profit of $18 billion, or $3.06 per diluted share. In terms of Sales, it reported sales of 5 million iPhones (+46% YOY), 4 million iPad sales (-18% YOY) and 5 million Mac sales (+14% YOY). All these impressive sales figures over the past 8 years have lead to Apple recording its 1 billionth iOS device sold – quite an impressive figure.
Apple Watch
On the call, Tim Cook gave a more discrete – albeit still soft – launch date of the Apple Watch.
“Development for Apple Watch is right on schedule, and we ex ...

18K Gold Apple Watch Edition to be Housed In Safes - http://bit.ly/1AdOPYN

Apple Stores will be treating its Apple Watch Edition in a manner unlike any prior Apple product. Specifically, Apple Stores are reportedly planning on storing the 18K Gold (or Rose Gold) variants of the Apple Watch in safes, per a report by 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman.
And these aren’t your typical, run-of-the-mill safes either. The safes have already been installed at some Apple Stores. The safes will also be outfitted to support Apple’s MagSafe charging infrastructure to ensure that the Apple Watches are charged before entering the store floor each day.
This news comes amid other reports corroborating Apple’s plans to differentiate this product in ways unlike any of its other products. For one, 9to5Mac’s Jeremy Horowitz explains that Apple is developing and designing a unique sales experience for purchasers of the 18K gold Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch is set to be released in April, per ...

iCloud Drive and Settings app added to iCloud.com beta - http://bit.ly/1tywyOz

Today Apple added two new icons to the iCloud.com beta website. iCloud Drive, and Settings. Apple revealed iCloud Drive as a new part of its iCloud service earlier this year at WWDC. The idea is very similar to Dropbox: you put whatever you want in a special folder, and you can access it from any de…

Apple Finalizes new iCloud Storage Pricing - http://bit.ly/1uvgWNm

Somewhat lost in the shadows of the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Pay and the Apple Watch, Apple unveiled its complete iCloud Drive pricing today. Previously, Apple had only revealed pricing for its lower tiers at WWDC 2014. The new pricing goes as follows: 5GB of storage for Free; 20GB of storage…

Apple Refreshes its Site, and with it Comes the Death of the iPod Classic - http://bit.ly/1lUyWQZ

Just after its keynote came to a close, Apple launched a redesigned version of its website that displayed the new iPhones and new Apple Watches. Apple also updated its menu bar to better reflect the new design philosophy it has embraced with iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 Yosemite. More subtly, Apple has offi…
