“THE BUSINESS OWNER WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG”

“Most business owners don't actually know what their digital marketing problem is.”

“And that's not an insult.

It's actually normal.

They tell me:

‘My website isn't working.’

‘Google isn't bringing customers.’

‘Instagram isn't working.’

‘I need more visibility.’

But those are symptoms.

The actual problem could be SEO.

It could be positioning.

It could be trust.

It could be the offer.

It could be the customer journey.

It could be conversion.

That's why diagnosis matters before ex*****on.

You can't fix a problem properly if you haven't identified what is causing it.”

“Next time your online marketing isn't working, don't immediately spend more money. Ask: what exactly is broken?”

“WHY BUSINESS OWNERS BECOME SUSPICIOUS”

“If you've already been burned by a developer or marketer, I completely understand why you're hesitant to try again.”

“I've spoken to business owners who paid for websites that never produced anything.

Others don't even have access to the hosting.

Some don't know who owns their domain.

Some can't get hold of the person who built their website.

So when another person comes and says:

‘Let me build you a website,’

the first thought isn't excitement.

It's:

‘What if I lose my money again?’

That's why I believe digital services need more transparency.

You should understand what you're paying for.

You should have access to your digital assets.

You should know what has been done.

And you shouldn't have to depend on one person just to access your own website.”

“If you've been burned before, ask more questions this time. That's not being difficult. That's being careful.”

“ALL THE PIECES ARE THERE”

“Sometimes the strangest thing about a struggling business is that they already have everything they need.”

“They have a website.

They have Instagram.

They have Facebook.

They have WhatsApp.

They have Google Business.

They have good reviews.

They have a good product.

But nothing is really connected.

Someone finds them on Instagram but can't easily book.

Someone searches Google but doesn't find enough information.

Someone visits the website but doesn't know what to do next.

So the problem isn't always absence.

Sometimes it's disconnection.

And that's one of the biggest things I've learned from working with businesses online.”

“Before adding another platform, check whether the ones you already have are actually working together.”

WHY I DON'T GUARANTEE SALES

“If someone guarantees you a specific number of sales from a website, I'd ask questions.”

“Because there are too many things outside the website's control.

Your pricing.

Your offer.

Your competition.

Your reputation.

Your response time.

The market.

The traffic coming to the website.

What I can do is build and improve the system that gives customers a clear path to take action.

We can improve discoverability.

Improve the message.

Improve trust.

Improve the customer journey.

Improve conversion.

But promising:

‘I'll build this website and you'll definitely make X amount of money’?

That's not strategy. That's a promise nobody can honestly control.”

“Look for someone who can explain the process, not just promise the outcome.”

“WHAT I ACTUALLY DO”

“People sometimes think I build websites. That's only part of what I do.”

“What I'm really interested in is understanding why a business isn't getting the result it wants online.

Maybe it needs a website.

Maybe it needs better Google visibility.

Maybe its social media isn't connected to anything.

Maybe the offer isn't clear.

Maybe customers don't trust it yet.

Maybe the website is getting visitors but nobody is enquiring.

So I don't want to start with:

‘What website do you want?’

I want to start with:

‘What are you trying to achieve?’

Then we work backwards.

That's how I approach digital growth strategy.

Diagnose first.

Build second.

Improve continuously.”

“If you're trying to figure out what's actually holding your business back online, start with the problem not the platform.”

STOP ADDING MORE PLATFORMS. START CONNECTING THE ONES YOU HAVE.

Facebook.

Instagram.

TikTok.

Google.

Website.

WhatsApp.

Email.

Many businesses are everywhere.

But nothing is connected.

Someone discovers you on Instagram.

They can't find your website.

Someone finds you on Google.

Your website doesn't explain the offer.

Someone visits your website.

There's no clear way to enquire.

Someone sends a WhatsApp message.

Nobody follows up.

Then the business owner says:

“Digital marketing doesn't work.”

But sometimes the problem isn't the platform.

It's the structure behind the platform.

A strong digital growth system should create a journey:

DISCOVER → UNDERSTAND → TRUST → ENQUIRE → BUY

That's the difference between simply having an online presence and building a digital marketing system that supports business growth.

Before creating another account or running another advert, look at the system you already have.

💬 Which part of your digital customer journey do you think is weakest right now?

YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN'T BUY FROM YOU IF THEY CAN'T FIND YOU.

Here's a simple exercise.

Take your phone.

Search for your business on Google.

Don't search your own name directly.

Search for the service you provide.

For example:

“Airport transfers in Diani.”

“Safari company in Watamu.”

“Insurance advisory Mombasa.”

“Furniture maker near me.”

Now ask:

Can potential customers find me?

If they find you:

Does your Google Business Profile look trustworthy?

Are your reviews visible?

Are your phone number and WhatsApp easy to find?

Does your website explain what you offer?

Is there a clear way to enquire?

Because online visibility isn't just about being online.

It's about being discoverable when your potential customer is looking for what you sell.

And once they find you, the next job is converting that attention into trust and action.

🔎 Try the search today.

What happens when a stranger searches for your service?

A BEAUTIFUL WEBSITE CAN STILL LOSE CUSTOMERS.

I've seen websites with:

Beautiful images.

Professional colours.

Amazing animations.

Great design.

But then you land on the page and ask:

What exactly do they do?

Who are they for?

Why should I trust them?

What should I do next?

And suddenly the beautiful website isn't doing much for the business.

That's because website design and website conversion are two different things.

Your website needs to communicate:

What you offer.

Who you help.

Why customers should choose you.

What they should do next.

That's conversion optimization.

A website isn't supposed to be a digital brochure that simply exists online.

It should support your lead generation, customer journey and sales process.

So don't only ask:

“Does my website look good?”

Ask:

“Does my website make it easy for the right customer to take action?”

📌 Save this and test your website from a customer's perspective.

YOU TRIED DIGITAL MARKETING. IT DIDN'T WORK.

I've realised something from speaking with business owners.

Some aren't new to the online space.

They've already tried it.

They paid for a website.

They posted on Facebook.

They created an Instagram page.

Maybe they even ran digital marketing ads.

And then...

Nothing.

No consistent enquiries.

No bookings.

No sales.

So they stopped.

Now someone tells them:

“You need digital marketing.”

And naturally they ask:

“What makes this different?”

That's a fair question.

Because the problem isn't always that digital marketing doesn't work.

Sometimes the problem is disconnection.

Your website is doing one thing.

Social media is doing another.

Google is doing something else.

WhatsApp is separate.

And there is no clear customer journey connecting them.

That's when being online becomes activity without growth.

You don't always need more digital marketing. Sometimes you need better digital structure.

💬 If you've tried digital before and got disappointing results, what went wrong?

“I NEED A WEBSITE.”

That's one of the most common things I hear from business owners.

And my next question is:

Why?

Not because I don't want to build the website.

Because the answer determines what we actually need to build.

Want more bookings?

Then the website needs to support online bookings and enquiries.

Want more leads?

Then we need a clear lead generation and conversion path.

Want customers to find you on Google?

Then SEO and Google visibility matter.

Want corporate clients to trust you?

Then credibility, positioning, proof and trust signals matter.

A website is not the goal.

The business result is the goal.

The website is one of the tools we use to get there.

That's why good website development starts with business strategy, not templates.

💬 Before you build your next website, ask yourself:

“What exactly do I want this website to accomplish?”
