Meet Mert ⚓

Mert joined us through Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, an EU programme that lets aspiring entrepreneurs gain experience by working alongside an established business in another country. As an Albanian born and raised in Türkiye, he had only known Kosovo through his elders’ stories. He spent three months with our team in Prishtina, and in his own words, found “a place that felt like home.”

During his time at AnchorzUp, Mert took his software development career to the next level. He gained hands-on experience with LLMs and machine learning and helped build our ISO AI agent.

Mert wasn’t a typical intern. He arrived with his own entrepreneurial vision and a strong interest in AI and multilingual technology, and he works comfortably in Turkish, Albanian and English. His perspective as a member of the diaspora brought new ideas into our everyday work and our team culture. It also helped us build bridges with Albanian communities beyond the Balkans. At AnchorzUp, we believe young talent deserves to work on real projects, and with Mert, both sides came away better for it.

Introducing our Expert-Led Articles: a new series where the people behind our products share what they’ve learned, in their own words.

Our product designer Rona, shares with us how she built an AI “UX Translator.”

Rona was rebuilding SYSTEMS 3000, HR and payroll platform, for the web. The hard part wasn’t making screens look modern. It was working out what decades-old legacy screens actually do: 30+ fields, hidden business rules, and edge cases nobody ever wrote down.

So she built an AI agent with one job: turn dense legacy material into plain-language understanding. For each screen it gives her:
→ A plain-language explanation of what the screen does
→ A field-by-field inventory
→ The hidden rules and edge cases
→ Open questions to take to our domain experts.

Detective work that used to take days now starts with a solid first draft in minutes. And Rona is a designer, not a developer. Her biggest lesson was that the best use of AI isn’t generating screens, it’s generating understanding.
