🏯 **What is a ryokan?**
Tatami floors. Futon beds laid out each night. A private onsen for the whole family. One night here beats any 5 star hotel experience.

♨️ **Private onsen is the move**
Public baths are naked and gender-separated — can feel intimidating with kids. Book a private family bath (kashikiri) instead. 45-60 minutes together, ¥2,500-5,000. Zero stress, maximum relaxation.

🧼 **3 rules kids need to know**
Wash first. No towel in the water. No swimming — just soak and relax. That’s genuinely it. Teach them before you go and you’re set.

🍱 **Kaiseki dinner + kids menu**
A multi-course feast served in the privacy of your own room. Email ahead for a vegetarian menu or kids course — most ryokans say yes. Kids course from ¥4,000-7,000 at family-friendly properties.

📍 **Best family ryokan towns**
Hakone — closest to Tokyo, just 1 hour away. Perfect for a quick overnight escape.
Kinosaki — widely considered Japan’s most family-friendly onsen town.

Book 1-2 nights maximum as a highlight of your trip — not your whole itinerary. It’s a completely different pace from city hotels. Your kids will remember this more than almost anything else in Japan.

Visiting Safari World Bangkok with kids? 🦁🇹🇭 SAVE THESE 4 TIPS!

We spent a full day at Safari World Bangkok, and these are a few things I wish I knew before going:

🚗 Check your ticket — some bookings may not include the safari drive, so check before you go.
🎭 Plan around the live shows — shows run multiple times, so you can fit them into your day.
👟 Wear comfortable shoes — there’s a LOT of walking.
💰 Carry extra Thai Baht — especially if you’re travelling by taxi and need to account for tolls.

I finally tried the VIRAL 7-Eleven drink in Bangkok 🇹🇭🥤

Found this simple 7-Eleven drink combination in Bangkok and had to try it!

🧊 Ice
🍫 Chocolate milk
🍌 Banana caramel milk

Mix it together and you’ve got a surprisingly good little drink. 😋

⭐ My rating: 7/10

I actually liked that it was less sweet than I expected — especially compared with some of the super-sweet drinks you find while travelling.
