Exhibit Opens: First Friday, September 4, 5-9pm.

September’s exhibit, “Ordinary Objects,” invites you to slow down and see the everyday in an entirely new way. From minuscule studies to larger-than-life portraits, these works turn a thoughtful eye toward the familiar things that surround us, objects we may pass by every day without truly seeing. Through color, shape, shadow, reflections, texture, and unexpected quirks, these works bring the often overlooked into sharp focus (and soft focus in a few cases!) Featuring a whole slew of artists you’ve never seem at Hive before!

FIRST FRIDAY FUN: Flannel For Two will be joining us again for a live music set of acoustic covers from the 1960s through the 1990s from 5-6:30pm (weather permitting). Wendy will have her studio open and get a first look at Spiraling Arts new studio, both on the 2nd floor.

SPECIAL EVENT: Sept 26, 11-5 - Do not miss the Art & Chocolate Stroll - one of Downtown York’s most fun - and delicious! - art events! Last week, West Art came alive as 12 talented artists faced off in three fast-paced rounds of live painting, with the audience watching the creative process unfold and voting for their favorites.

The energy, talent, and community spirit made Art Battle Lancaster an incredible success! Thank you to the artists, organizers, and everyone who came out to cheer them on, cast a vote, and celebrate our region’s creative community. Congratulations to 🏆First Place winner, Ceanna Davis, and 🏆Second Place winner, Tatiana Short!
