My updated portfolio website hard launch day has arrived!
For the past few months, I’ve been filling much of my free time preparing for today. This is the 4th edition of my portfolio site, which is hard to believe. I built my first WordPress site back in 2014 after previously relying on a business page to market myself and my work.
I try to refresh my portfolio every 3 to 4 years because as I evolve, so does my creativity. This iteration feels like my strongest work yet.
Alongside the website redesign, I’ve repositioned my social media presence and developed recurring editorial series including Creative Truths, Portfolio Archive, Kind Words, and Design Notes. Together, they give me a space to share my work as well as the ideas, experiences, and creative thinking behind it.
Marketing and promoting others has always come more naturally to me than drawing attention to my own work. Taking on this redesign and repositioning required a tremendous amount of time, care, and devotion to the process.
I’d like to thank Robert for capturing the portraits featured throughout the site, patiently supporting me through this undertaking, and serving as my beta tester before Sunday’s soft launch. I appreciate his perspective and support immensely.
Going forward, you can find my work at www.amkincaidd.com.
AK Design remains part of my creative identity, but I’ll primarily be working under my own name, with AK Design and The Type4Me Project housed beneath it.
And yes, the second “d” in Kincaidd is intentional. After marrying Robert Lee Dugan III in 2022, while I haven’t legally changed my name, it’s my way of merging Kincaid and Dugan while retaining the name I had built my creative work around. Fittingly, that second “d” also stands for design.
Welcome to the next chapter of my creative work. I’m so thankful and glad you are here.
