Finally making art again.
Haven't used in about 16 years, and my two biggest weaknesses back then were color use, and lips. Overall, pretty happy with how this came out.

I forget sometimes to document my process for this thing, so don't expect this every time, hehe

More black & white this week. This bison family was grazing in a clearing. The one closest to the camera kept watch, and made sure the herd was together, and that the calves didn't get too close to the small crowds of people.

Often mistaken for their relative the Buffalo, the North American Bison is a tremendous creature. Immense, and built to withstand the elements, this horned beast is a strong and capable fixture of the the American landscape.

The physical reality of Bison aside, we were truly fortunate to have seen the gentle side of these roaming giants. Inevitably among the park visitors were the occasional poor decision makers who were getting too close, and not giving these creatures the space they deserve. Yet the Bison we encountered were the picture of tranquility. Quietly lumbering through the countryside that they have walked for millenia. True power does not need to announce itself.

Great or small, Wildlife Sanctuary houses all sorts of creatures. These little Ground Squirrels for instance were absolute gems. If they aren't munching on a little snack, or relaxing under cover from the spots of rain, they really just managed to be busy being.. busy😅. As intelligent as they are adorable, these ground squirrels are absolutely fascinating to watch
