UPDATE…Pioneers Win! Thank you to the Whiteoak Wildcats for coming out to play on our court. Both teams played well and everyone involved had a great time!

On 2-17 the Ohio Valley INTERalliance Chapter attended TechOlympics 2024: Empower. The students spent the day competing with other schools in challenges ranging from programming to design to networking to cybersecurity. Some also received hands-on assistance with creating a professional resume and learning how to conduct themselves during a formal job interview. When not participating in one of the many workshops, the students visited booths for businesses looking for employers and also area colleges. The group also submitted a project for the Tech Olympics Showcase. Five students from the group created an arcade game that is not only fun to play, but also teaches Cyber Hygiene concepts. The game presents the player with scenarios throughout the game play that address real world cyber security vulnerabilities. Oh and by the way... they housed this game in an old school style arcade cabinet created by a team of students in various programs at the CTC.

Ohio Valley CTC ESports team starts off the Spring Pre-Season with a win. They are one of three teams that will be competing this season against teams from other schools across the country! The other two teams played this evening as well, a victory for our new team while the other suffered a narrow defeat. One more pres-season match next week and the regular season begins the week after. I am very proud of all three teams for their dedication to practice and commitment to growing as a team! Stay tuned for next weeks results!
