AI user-generated content is here, and it's better than people think.

The guy you just watched walk through a train station and sell you a wellness drink doesn't exist. No actor, no camera, no location. I built him at my desk for under $8.

Everyone's paying around $77 dollars a month for tools like Arcads to spin up fake influencers reading ad scripts. I didn't want the subscription. So I took the prompt craft the whole AI UGC world has been figuring out and rebuilt the entire thing myself on Google's Nano Banana and Veo 3. Pay per use. One workflow. Total control.

I'm not posting this to sell you on fake people. I'm posting it because the gap between big brand budget and solo creator just closed, and most people haven't noticed yet.

I have to share something I've been pouring myself into.

A few weeks ago a friend mentioned, almost in passing, how much has changed with building websites and AI. That little comment sent me down a path, and I haven't looked up since. Most of my spare time for the last three weeks has gone into this.

Here's what came of it. I've been building a network of local websites for small businesses across San Diego County. Fifteen are live now. They're already showing up in Google thousands of times a week, and the first phone calls are starting to come in.

What amazes me isn't the technology. It's what it means. Things that used to take a whole team and a real budget are now within reach of one person willing to put in the work and keep learning. That feels like a genuine gift, and a genuine opportunity, for anyone running something small and meaningful.

I'm grateful. Grateful for the friend who nudged me, grateful for my wife who believed in the leap, and grateful to get to do work I genuinely love.

If you know someone running a small business who feels invisible online, send them my way. That's exactly the kind of thing I'm here to help with.

Thanks for being on this ride with me.

I want to share something I’ve been building because the "impossible" just became a weekend project. 🤯

I built an app called The Grid. Two weeks of free time, Claude Code, and a problem I’ve been trying to solve for my clients for months.

Taking a long-form podcast and turning it into high-performing short-form content used to be an all-day job. Transcribing, analyzing, ranking clips, scheduling... it was a grind.

The Grid changed all of that:

ScriptLift handles the transcription and speaker tagging.

ClipRank scores every clip against historical data so we know what’s going to rank before it even goes live.

PostLine sequences the clips for smart scheduling.

SmashDraft spits out YouTube descriptions and cinematic thumbnail concepts in one shot.

What used to take a full day now takes less than an hour for every client, every week.

I’m not a coder, but I’ve realized that if you can articulate your problem and ask the right questions, you can solve anything. This is 1 of 6 tools I’ve built this week. My brain has officially unlocked what’s possible—there are no more limits. 🚀✨

I just turned my handwriting into a real, installable font — and it took less than an afternoon.
Write all your characters on a sheet of paper, photograph it, run a Python script through Claude Code. It segments every character, vectorizes it, and builds the .otf file. Double-click to install. Done.
Made one for myself, one for my wife. One of those things that feels like it shouldn't be this fast — but it is.

Super excited to be working with Nala Ray and helping bring her new podcast to life. Episode 3 drops today — go check it out on YouTube if you want. Excited for the journey.

One year down.

What started as a short experiment slowly turned into something real — not because it was perfect, but because I stayed with it.

This year reminded me that growth doesn’t usually come from big moments, but from showing up consistently.

If you’ve been thinking about starting something, this is your sign to give it a little time.

Many more to come.

I wrapped up a fun Christmas project this week 🎄🔥

I’ve always loved having those cozy Christmas ambience videos playing in the background this time of year. After seeing someone on TikTok talk about how they stream theirs nonstop all season, I figured… why not make my own?

I used AI for the entire process — concept, image, music, and animation. It took a lot of experimenting, but I finally landed on a scene I love: subtle snowfall outside, a warm fireplace, and some smooth, custom jazz in the background.

What would’ve taken days of filming and editing five years ago can now be created in a single afternoon. It still blows my mind.

Hope it brings you a little peace and Christmas coziness. ✨

November was our first full month running content for The Faith Filter, and the results honestly blew us away. We built a full multi-platform system from scratch, and in just 30 days the brand reached more than 51,800 people across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

Short-form clips carried a ton of the momentum, and YouTube quickly became the main engine for discovery with 29,997 views on its own. TikTok added another 15,000, and Instagram reached 5,409 new people organically.

It’s been fun building something intentional, consistent, and strategic for Joel’s brand—and this is only month one. More to come.
