Hi everyone! We hope you all are enjoying your summer. After some careful consideration, we have made the decision to suspend VTMP. Since the inception of our project, we've made amazing progress expanding the mesonet coverage in the Blacksburg NWS warning area and are thrilled with what we've been able to accomplish. We wanted to say thank you and express our gratitude for everyone who has supported our efforts over the past couple of years, whether that be through joining CWOP or helping us get our story out there on local TV stations and in newspapers. All of you helped make this project a success! With all of that being said, CWOP is not going away. There will always be a need for personal weather stations in our region and beyond. If you ever decide to invest in a personal weather station in the future, you can always register with CWOP here on the Blacksburg WFO's website: https://www.weather.gov/rnk/CitizenWeatherObservingProgram

Thank you all again for following along and supporting this project!

Regardless, the threat of severe weather still looms in the coming weeks even as temperatures dip below freezing this evening in our region.
