Stocking tops belong flat, not folded down.
If the top of a compression stocking feels awkward, folding it over is not the adjustment recommended in Leeds Community Healthcare NHS patient guidance. The guidance tells people wearing compression hosiery not to roll stockings down or fold the top.
Follow the application instructions from your healthcare professional, and ask them to check the fit if you are having trouble. That is a better next step than trying to change how the garment sits by folding its top.
This is practical patient guidance, not a clinical trial result. Follow the advice for your own prescribed hosiery and exact garment.
