We had a service call about a wireless access point not working. I opened the service panel to find a smart surge protector (one that allows you to turn an outlet on and off with an app). The only device plugged into the surge protector was the main ethernet switch. If you turn off the outlet to the switch, how are you supposed to turn the outlet back on? You've basically turned off the connection to the surge protector. I'm not sure what the installer was thinking. We moved the switch plug to an unmanaged outlet and everything started to work again.
