Family photography this fall was a success! With each shoot, my camera and editing skills improved so much. I’m grateful to every family that trusted me with capturing their beautiful moments.
The Canon EOS R7 is amazing! Huge thanks to Joe Woznica Wozztography for coaching me through the purchase and for the lesson at the Root Glen. The camera is working out so well. It’s easy to use once you take the time to learn it. What a great choice for my first “real camera,” and I’m proud of how all my family photos have turned out.
I studied photography in school and college, and I’m a creative by nature. I was trained in Adobe, but this was my first time using Lightroom (I prefer Classic) because it gives me more control. I really have to say, editing skills are a huge piece of the puzzle. I’m meticulous by nature, so this level of detail works so well for the families I photograph.
This particular shoot was on a crazy day: I had my boys, a basketball game, and I showed up without the cord to my $325 professional lighting kit. As expected, I was so bummed at first and even offered the family another shoot.
I stayed disappointed until I started editing. The pictures ended up being my best yet. You really do get better as you go, and it certainly didn’t hurt that I had a beautiful family in front of the camera.
Thank you, Kelly and family, for the opportunity to capture such a special moment in your life. I’m so glad these turned out amazing, and I’m looking forward to the next shoot we do together.
