A look back at some of the most special moments of Open Concept girl groups this summer. This truly was the epitome of girlhood- dancer edition.

These girls have connected so well — new friends, old friends, current friends — all supporting one another for a common dance goal!

As a final goodbye to the space, I thought I would share my top 3 favorite moments here.

1. Vision Board Event - the top connected artists at this event were SO happy to create an art piece to call theirs, with no pressure to prove anything from their art - a common theme we preached ALWAYS within these walls.

2. SHADOWFORM . I’m so excited to bring this photo event back this fall. It was completely derived from inspiration & captured SO organically. I was so pleased with the outcome of these shots and just how storytelling they were! Details are coming soon!

3. This one isn’t a concrete moment, but many moments throughout the dance mentoring private pathway. SO many dancers and families have come to me in my time at this space with countless calls for help. This looked different for many - help in rebuilding self image, help in rediscovering their organic movement quality, help in connecting to more positivity, help in building inner and physical strength, help in guiding their dancer to better environments - I’ve seen it ALL in my short time here. This one is HUGE for me - this is exactly why I wanted to provide for a slowly dying DANCE industry. Yes, I said it.

There is no single blueprint for navigating your dance path.

Some dancers naturally build close relationships with teachers and mentors. Others maintain a stronger sense of professional distance. Both approaches can lead to growth, opportunity, and successful careers.

But one thing every dancer should understand early on is that this industry is built on more than talent alone.

Training matters. Hard work matters. Discipline matters. But relationships, trust, and the ability to connect with the people around you will also play a role as you build your career.

This is something many dancers don’t realize until later — the way you show up as a person can be just as impactful as the way you show up as a performer.

The goal is not to become someone you’re not.
It’s not about forcing a personality that doesn’t feel authentic or trying to fit someone else’s version of what a successful dancer looks like.

It’s about understanding yourself, recognizing how you naturally connect with others, and learning how to build meaningful professional relationships while staying true to who you are.

There isn’t one “right” way to create your path.
The strongest paths are built by dancers who know their craft, understand the industry, and never lose sight of themselves along the way.

You don’t need a full group to start. Most dancers are starting with 1–2 friends… and building from there.

If you’re coming in solo — you’re not alone. Groups are being formed intentionally so everyone has a place.
