Although I rely on Adobe Creative Suite for most design jobs, I've recently found Canva to be a fun app for quick social media graphics. The pre-designed templates can be hacked into oblivion, and I've discovered new font pairings that can be taken back to more bespoke design. Their article on font pairing is useful for reference.

Good comparison of the strengths and limitations of MailChimp. I have a bias against them mostly because I don't like the name and using their free services means having it included in your emails.
