✨⭐️On the Blog⭐️✨
It’s finally time for our ORC Girl’s Horse Sanctuary bedroom REVEAL!! (Swipe right for BEFORE!) I just love how this space came together, found its character in the process, & transformed into the home base my girl has been hoping for.

I can’t believe it is FINALLY that time, to hand this room back over to her and to let her make it her own. The blank, A-frame walls are wide open for the taking and I'm sure she will fill them with posters, art work, tapestries, who knows??? over the years. Eventually she will probably paint the bed headboard and have big ideas for the color of her room. But for now, in this sweet slice of life that are the elementary years, this is the haven where we will read together, practice times tables, welcome friends just getting used to their first sleepovers, and make memories with the cousins that will last a lifetime. This is what it is all about....

Thank you for joining me on our FOURTH room makeover and congratulations to all of the other designers this week who have been on this journey with me over the past eight weeks. It is truly a remarkable experience to be inspired and encouraged by so many talented people who are also out there trying to create magical spaces in their homes and I am honored and grateful to have been a part of it once more. This sweet almost-nine-year-old is heading into her ✨⭐️birthday⭐️✨ weekend wearing her first self-made skirt (The Nightmare Before Christmas is this Halloween Baby’s 🎃 favorite)! Nana is teaching her to sew and she is having so much fun shopping for material, cutting patterns, hand-stitching, & learning to use the sewing machine.

They are starting a new holiday project next week, but first off Miss Cecily and I will be wrapping up a crafty DIY for her new room that we have been working on (sharing the details in our ORC update this weekend!) and Nana, Papa, & I are getting to work on this DIY wooden headboard! ⭐️✨✨✨ Connie Hesselbein Reinhardt Misty McGrew Tumino

Put together these fun drink stirrers with rock candy sticks, mini ornaments ($3 at Target), mini reindeer ($1 Michael’s miniatures), and a glue gun ~ a super easy & fun little craft to add a bit of holiday cheer this coming week. 🎄⭐️✨

Drop your BOMBS (hot cocoa bombs, that is ❤️) with these cute downloadable tags in our Juneberry print shop (link in profile). Don’t you just love this little Elf surprise? Our cocoa bombs are from .ohio - a mom & her 2 daughters with a local business who have been pretty busy this holiday season! 🎄🎅🏻❄️

When you are cleaning the house and getting ready to hang more 🎄 decorations....and your super amazing sister-in-law surprises you with an early Christmas gift (the most awesome mid-century chairs!! ) Still have wallpaper removal, wall art, and paint color choices ahead in this entry but I’m super excited about the direction this is going! ⭐️✨✨✨✨

We made mini white yarn poms poms (because we had so much left over from our Halloween ghosts...but cotton balls work just as well!!!) 🎅🏻 🎄 ✨

Everyone’s over here decorating their Christmas mantles and we are baking Turkey cookies 🦃. I guess we’re just old school 😂. These girls had a new plan for Great Grandma’s peanut butter cup recipe - they always have the best ideas. Happy Turkey Day Eve all! 🦃🍁🍂🍗🌽🥕🍗🍞

And at last-that is a wrap on the Fall 2020 One Room Challenge. Our guest room retreat is complete and anxiously awaiting a brighter future full of friends & family and memorable times together.

My favorite element in this space is this printable Butterfly diptych and how I was able to match the ‘Drizzle’ paint with the color code. I also truly enjoyed spending the extra week added on to the challenge by creating a whimsical flying crane ceiling with new trim, ‘City Chartreuse’ by , and gold decals from .

Yesterday’s estate sale haul was a good one! It happened to be 50% off day - so that was an extra bonus. I’ve been looking for a small wooden trinket dish for the guest room and I just knew one would turn up! I can never resist a good mid-century owl and serve ware is key this time of year. But my FAVORITE find is most definitely these vintage Bakelite carved leaf cocktail sticks! Estate sales can feel so melancholy to me but I’m also so happy & honored to bring new life to someone’s past treasures! 🌱

Nothing remains undecided HERE! Week 5 from the ORC and this guest room is shaping UP! So many fun design elements are heading in today (light fixture, mirrors over the two night stands, and my favorite element being a gorgeous Juneberry Lane Butterfly Diptych over the bed 🦋 - these are just test prints in the photos but I’m off to the printer to pick up my 18x24s now!!) A little updated before and after of our MASTER bedroom (with floors!). Got quite a ways to go but this first floor domain is our sanctuary. Also-it is in desperate need of waving a hygge wand & creating some coziness!! Do you have any good suggestions for creating sensible layout in HUGE bedrooms like this? What do you think we need in here?
