From Capital Murder to Revoked Freedom‼️
👉Dallas - A case that began with a deadly investigation has come full circle in Dallas.
In September 2020, Laquita Cota Stewart, 44, was arrested following a homicide investigation in southern Dallas. Prosecutors initially charged her with capital murder, but after further review, the charge was reduced to aggravated robbery.
On January 25, 2023, Stewart accepted a plea deal with the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and was sentenced to five years of community supervision. But that freedom didn’t last.
Court records show her probation was revoked in January 2026, after she was arrested on December 17, 2025, for theft of property valued between $750 and $2,500. She was officially taken back into custody on February 20, 2026, for violating probation tied to the original aggravated robbery case — a case that once carried the weight of a capital murder investigation.
