He grew up on Highway 16 at Drums Crossroads, attended Balls Creek Elementary, Tuttle Middle, and Bandys High School. He graduated from Bandys in 1988 and studied Public Health and Environmental Science at UNC-Chapel Hill. ty in 2008. While living in Durham, Spence and BJ both worked on and off for WTE Solutions on a variety of projects, including content management, IT support, and sales. Spence began working for the company full time in 2012 as a Sales Coordinator and added the title of IT Project Manager in 2015.
