🚨 Lifesaver Dog: Widow Bandit 🚨
Widow Bandit is on day 26 of his 40-day Lifesaver deadline.
More than three weeks have passed — and he’s still waiting.
Dogs on the Lifesaver list are given 40 days to find an adopter or long-term foster. If no placement is secured by day 40, the City allows one 15-day extension. If there is still no outcome after that extension, euthanasia is required. This is a City mandate, not a decision made by CARE STL — which is why this is so urgent.
Here’s the part that matters just as much: in a home, Bandit thrives. He has already proven that in a previous foster home. He settles in, bonds deeply, and turns into the kind of dog who wants to be wherever you are — preferably touching you.
Bandit is goofy, affectionate, and full of personality. He thinks he’s a lap dog, offers enthusiastic nose boops, and has big “talks back in a woo-woo way” energy. He loves tennis balls, tug toys, adventures, and couch time, and he takes his role as kitchen floor cleanup crew very seriously.
A few things his people love about him:
Housebroken and crate trained
Walks nicely on leash
Rides great in the car
Smart, food-motivated, knows sit and down
Bandit does need the right setup to succeed. He needs to be the only pet, in an adults-only home or a home with older kids, with someone patient who is willing to take introductions slow. New people can be a lot for him at first, but when he’s given time, space, and calm, his confidence grows and his bond runs deep. Our volunteer trainers are always happy to help guide this process.
Day 26 means the clock is moving fast.
If you think your home could be the place where Widow Bandit gets to thrive again, please come meet him and talk with our team. Sharing his story truly helps more than you know.
