09/18/2026
If you’ve been wondering where I disappeared to, life decided to throw me a lovely collection of health-related curveballs, because apparently my body enjoys keeping the plot interesting. 😂
I’ve had to slow down, reevaluate what I can realistically take on, and make some changes to the way I offer services through Mrs. B’s R.E.D.
So, consider this the official 2026-2027 service, pricing, and policy refresh. ✨
Some of my older price sheets may still be floating around online, so if anything on those graphics conflicts with this post, this post reflects my current policies and pricing.
📚 BETA READING
Here’s the biggest change:
Beta Reading is now FREE. ❤️
Yep. Free.
I love helping authors work through their stories, characters, pacing, reader reactions, and all those little things that sometimes become invisible when you have been staring at the same manuscript for approximately 84 years. 😂
The exception is work that falls into my former Nugget-level category, meaning manuscripts or projects that require significantly more time, depth, detailed feedback, or additional work than a standard beta read.
Those projects will still be priced individually after we discuss the manuscript and what you need.
If you are unsure whether your book falls into that category, just message me. I’m happy to take a look at the scope before we decide anything.
📖 ARC READING
ARC reading is now discussed and priced per book rather than using one universal package.
Every ARC is different. Length, turnaround time, genre, requested feedback, review expectations, and the amount of reading involved can vary enormously, so this makes much more sense than trying to squeeze every book into the same little box.
Send me your book information and timeline, and we’ll discuss availability and pricing from there.
✍️ GHOSTWRITING
Ghostwriting services are still available as my health and schedule allow, but projects are taken on selectively.
Ghostwriting is one of the most time-intensive services I offer, so pricing depends heavily on the scope of the project, word count, how much material already exists, the amount of research involved, editing needs, deadlines, and whether we are working on a portion of a manuscript or building an entire book.
Smaller projects, chapter work, partial manuscripts, and full-length ghostwriting are all handled differently, so please contact me for current availability and a quote.
I would much rather tell you upfront what I can realistically handle than accept a project and not be able to give it the attention it deserves.
🎨 DESIGN & CREATIVE SERVICES
Design work is still available, but those services now overlap heavily with my work through Wise Hazel Design & Apothecary.
That includes things like:
✨ Book covers
✨ Character artwork
✨ Author graphics
✨ Branding concepts
✨ Custom digital artwork
✨ Portrait collages
✨ Promotional designs
✨ Tarot-inspired artwork
✨ Memorial artwork
✨ Other custom creative work
Pricing ranges from premade artwork prices to fully custom consultation-based pricing, depending on what you need.
Premade pieces may have a set price, while custom designs are quoted based on complexity, revisions, usage rights, and the amount of creation time involved.
For the most current artwork and design pricing, please check out Wise Hazel Design & Apothecary or message me directly for a consultation. 🖤
📚 AUTHOR BRANDING & SUPPORT
I am still available for certain author-support services as my schedule allows, including branding guidance, graphics, manuscript feedback, publishing advice, and other à la carte assistance.
If you need full publishing guidance, you can also reach out through Owl Mountain Press, which is currently helping authors with self-publishing consultations and individual publishing assistance rather than taking on new full-time authors.
Mrs. B’s R.E.D. is where you’ll still find more of the hands-on, one-on-one services like beta reading, ARC work, ghostwriting, creative assistance, and author support.
♿ A QUICK NOTE ABOUT TURNAROUND TIMES
Because my health has changed quite a bit, I am being much more intentional about what I accept and how many projects I take on at one time.
Some weeks I can tear through creative work like my brain has been plugged directly into a lightning bolt.
Other weeks my body decides we are operating on library hours during a snowstorm. 😂
Because of that, turnaround times will always be discussed before I accept a paid project.
If you have a firm deadline, please tell me during the consultation so I can be realistic about whether I can meet it.
I would rather say, “I can’t take this one right now,” than overbook myself and disappoint someone later.
❤️ HOW TO BOOK
If you’re interested in working with me, send a private message with:
✨ The service you need
✨ Your approximate word count, if applicable
✨ Your genre
✨ Your desired timeline
✨ A brief description of the project
✨ Any specific concerns, goals, or services you’re looking for
For artwork or design projects, include any inspiration photos, character references, mood boards, colors, symbolism, or general ideas you already have.
And if your message begins with, “Okay, I have no idea how to explain this, but…”
You’re in the right place. 😂
Thank you to everyone who has stuck around, checked in on me, recommended my work, trusted me with your manuscripts, and continued supporting my businesses while I figured out how to restructure things around my health.
I’m still here.
I’m still reading.
I’m still writing.
I’m still designing.
I’m just learning to do all of it in a way that my body can actually sustain. ❤️
