Jeremy Hamblin shared a simple but important reminder on FOX 2: your phone may be sharing more about you than you realize.

Many apps ask for access to your location, contacts, camera and microphone, even when they don't need it to work. Once you tap "Allow," that data can be collected, shared or sold.

Take two minutes today to open your phone's settings and review which apps have access to what. If a shopping app wants your contacts or microphone, it's worth asking why.

Carmen is a St. Louis native and a DeVry University graduate with a degree in Computer Information Systems. She brings more than six years of experience in MSP support, with a strong foundation in helping businesses keep their technology running smoothly and solving problems quickly for the people who rely on it.
