On February 27, 2011 the Eye members meet at the Alton Illinois Visitor Center at 10:00am. From there we proceeded to West Alton (back over the Mississippi River) to the Bird Sanctuary. We saw several eagles immediately. After sending some time we then headed over to the Alton Dam. There several of us actually caught an eagle in flight. The members spent the time waiting by discussing cameras, eagles, and just some good ole conversations. Around 12:30 the group headed towards Grafton Illinois for lunch and where they saw more eagles. I did not make it to Grafton but I hear there were some greats sightings there.
