We are at our 3 week mark from first starting the Chiron video game! it's time we start taking the social media page to the next level. If you know someone that'd be into this kind of project, please share our page! We wont be able to host an event if there's no fighters!

Time to update you on what's going on. We have some good news and some bad. The good news is we have a working LAN based network up for the game. It was a grueling two day process but Chiron allows for LAN hosting without too much delay. An e-sport event is in the process of being planned! Shirt designs and other merchandise are in the works. We don't want to go to crowdfunding sites to pay for the game or event so we decided selling merch to crowd fund was a better option. It may be possible, but a small 5 to 10 dollar Chiron game might be sold as well to help fund the event. The game would be a single player mission based game but would still have the same mechanics and play style as the e-sport event. A poll will be created to see what fans would want to purchase and what prices sound reasonable. Last bit of good news, the textures on most of the buildings have been updated with normal and height maps. They have some amazing detail to them now and give a good sense of atmosphere. The level creation has gone underway and looks better each and every day!

Now for the bad news. The weapon system is currently a Raycast based system and isn't responding too well. We tested the Raycast out and it doesn't seem to be detecting any collisions. We're working on it fast and want to fix the bug in the next day or two. Now the next issue. We haven't worked on it, but there might be an issue of implementing rockets into the game. We have to check how physics of objects work with the online network, but hopefully we can have the options for rockets. In the time being we will have a poll up for Raycast based weapons that would substitute for a heavy weapon. Snipers, lasers, shotguns, ect. Weapons that wouldn't require too many moving parts with its ballistics.

It's been a long time since this project has been touched. I'm happy to say that it is no longer dead! Instead of a tabletop game, Chiron will live as a first person mech shooter!

In the video I'm currently working with bobbing mechanics of the camera to simulate movement inside the war machine. The cockpit is a temp texture stolen from an earlier 2D chiron game that has yet to be released (it is complete, we just need to host it on a website). After the physics of the player are completed a weapon system will be created. After that modeling for mechs and the level will start.

Now this game wont be released to the public. Instead we plan to have a multiplayer function in place and to host live events where players can enter tournaments. A lot of the details still need worked out, Especially since the game is no where near completion. Stay tuned these next couple of months to see what's shaking in the world of Chiron!

In the latest update we may have fixed any issue with repair, leap, and armor. To start off, the Combat phase as been renamed to action round. With that, you now have two options with it, either make it an aggressive round or passive round. As you may have guessed, on your aggressive round you can only make actions that harm enemies health or stats. As for the passive round you cannot make attacks but rather make actions like repair, leap, drop items. We also changed the rules for some of these actions. Repair for instance, now can be done multiple times on the same round, as long as you gained the skill multiple times.

As for armor, there was a scaling issue that we never thought about. It was the reason no one chose armor. Now armor is scaled in a way that makes it more appealing. We also got rid of frames having a limit on what armor they can have. It just complicated things.

I believe right now all frames are a little sketchy on pricing. We keep noticing inconsistencies due to over editing and possibly not exporting all of them to the new system. Just a possible error on our part that we may need to fix.

Stay tuned for updates! After December we plan on getting all legal forms ready. After that we may start hiring artists to do art for the book. If you are an artist or know an artist that can do well with a very basic sketch style, please contact us!
