Some heroes never wear a badge on the street—they wear a headset.

RACOM would like to congratulate the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office Emergency Communications Team on receiving Zetron's 2026 Golden Headset Award for Outstanding Emergency Communications Team.

This recognition honors the incredible courage, professionalism, and dedication shown by the dispatch team during the tragic events at the Sheriff's Office on December 26, 2025. While facing an active threat inside their own building, these dispatchers continued answering 9-1-1 calls, coordinating resources, and providing critical information to responding officers. Their commitment to serving their community under unimaginable circumstances is nothing short of extraordinary.

We were honored to be there alongside our partner, Zetron, to celebrate this well-deserved recognition. RACOM was also proud to provide lunch for the team as a small token of our appreciation for everything they have done and continue to do for Shoshone County.

To Casey Van Buskirk, Jonnie Rotchford, Suzanne Evans, and the entire Emergency Communications Team—thank you for your unwavering dedication, resilience, and service. Your professionalism during one of your community's most difficult days is an inspiration to all of us in public safety.

Please join us in congratulating Mike Miller, President & CEO of RACOM, on being inducted into the L3Harris PSPC Indirect Channel Hall of Fame.

This recognition reflects more than just professional achievement—it honors a legacy of leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment to public safety communications.

RACOM's story began in 1972, when Mike's father, Gregg Miller, founded the company in Marshalltown, Iowa with a vision of providing reliable communications solutions to those who serve their communities. Following Gregg's passing, Mike assumed leadership of the company in 2005, carrying forward the values, customer focus, and family-oriented culture that have defined RACOM for more than five decades.

Under Mike's leadership, RACOM has grown from a regional communications provider into one of the nation's premier mission-critical communications organizations, serving public safety, utilities, transportation, and government agencies throughout the Midwest and Pacific Northwest. His dedication to innovation, strong partnerships, and customer success has helped shape RACOM into the organization it is today.
