Let The Good Times Roll Juneteenth Festival June 20-23, 2025

The Festival has the distinction of being the largest Juneteenth celebration not only in the surrounding Ark-La-Tex area, but in the entire state of Louisiana. We promote the festival to educate and stimulate the social awareness of the health issues adversely affecting the African American community. Each year we create a kid zone, a farmer’s market, health screenings, bike riding/5K race, and amazing local, regional, and national entertainment. An estimated 20,000 people attend the festival over the weekend and provide the Shreveport/Bossier community with an economic impact of over $1,000,000.

Kid Zone is provided to promote physical activity and social awareness. 3,000+ children participate in the Kid Zone over the weekend.

Farmer’s Market is provided on the Saturday morning of festival weekend to promote the preparation and availability of fresh food in the area. 1,000+ people attend the Market.

Health Fair is also held on Saturday morning of festival weekend, giving free health screening, blood testing, HIV testing, dental hygiene, covid vaccine, haircuts and health information provided to everyone in attendance. 1,200+ people attend the health fair.

Entertainment is provided for each day of the festival. The festival draws people from neighboring states and beyond, greatly stimulating the local economy.
Bike Ride/5K Run either a Freedom Bike Ride, or 5K Run, around downtown Shreveport is held Saturday morning on festival weekend. Dozens of people participate.

On September 22, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln announced that the Emancipation Proclamation would go into effect on January 1, 1863, promising freedom to enslaved people in all of the rebellious parts of Southern states of the Confederacy including Texas.

Enforcement of the Proclamation generally relied upon the advance of Union troops. Texas, as the most remote state of the former Confederacy, had seen an expansion of slavery because the presence of Union troops was low as the American Civil War ended; thus, the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation had been slow and inconsistent there prior to Granger's order.

In all June 19, 1865, was 900 days after the Emancipation Proclamation went into effect, 71 days after Robert E. Lee surrendered to the Union on April 9, 1865, and 24 days after the disbanding of the Confederate military department covering Texas on May 26, 1865.

Juneteenth, officially Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States.

I am proud to say that I'm working with my former Boss Lady again. It's better than ever. I have multiple projects that I'm working on with my businesses and working with my boss lady. Cannot wait for what God has for me on this journey. I couldn't see it, but I had faith in what God had in store for me, especially working on it. James 2:20 says, "Faith without works is dead."

I want to give God thanks, praise, and glory because if it wasn't for Him, I wouldn't have the people to support me.

If a man says, "You have to have kids for him to treat you like a queen." He isn't the one.

If a man says, "The reason why you are not married or have kids is because you aren't submissive to that man." He isn't the one.

A man is supposed to treat you like a queen with or without kids regardless. For you to be submissive to a man is for a man to be submissive himself and treat a woman as a Queen for her to submit to her husband.

Men have a way of thinking about why women stay single. They don't understand why women stay single because of how men treat us, women.

For us to get married to the right one that God provides. The one that can treat us as Queens, is to set our standards high. If they belittle you to make you lower your standards. They aren't the one. If they want to have intimacy to think that is the only way to love you. They aren't the one.

So, if you have to be single to protect your integrity, self-worth, self-respect, and self-love as a Queen till God brings you the king that you deserve and treat as such. Then do so.

A man will disrespect you if you allow them to. Don't let it happen..
