I just recently had someone ask me: "what is the difference between UI and UX?" This is a very good question because they are so closely intertwined that anything changed in one will most likely affect the other.

stands for User Interface and stands for User Experience.

UI focuses on structuring the layout of a . This can mean anything from where a (call to action) might go to where text should be placed.

UX focuses on the thought of the design. Meaning it's primary objective is to insure that users have a good time interacting with the design.

So it would be best to think of UI as the compiled pieces of a design to create structure and UX as the thought behind design that assures usability.

Flaticon has a variety of icons styles so you can still get that custom feel without paying for custom designs. Their comprehensive search filter helps you find any style you're looking for. They also offer the ability to download your icons in pretty much any file format you want, from PNGs to SVGs.

UI For All Fingers Big and Small

It's good practice to make sure all clickables (buttons, links, text fields etc) have enough room for your user's fingers. If there isn't enough space users can become frustrated when they try to click one feature but get another unwanted feature.

When testing your website or applications we recommend finding testers with larger than normal finger girth, to see how easy it is for them to navigate your clickables. This way you'll know that your application or website is friendly to the average finger size and those slightly above average for touchscreen devices.
